Water stewardship

Protecting potable water resources and prioritizing water-efficient designs

  • Water stress evaluation: Beale evaluates the stress and long-term risks on local water resources to inform facility designs and understand long-term impact.
  • Local engagement: We partner with local experts and municipalities to mitigate against potential negative impacts on watersheds and aquifers.
  • Reuse opportunities: Where feasible, Beale invests in reclaimed water systems and infrastructure to enable the use of non-potable water resources.

Proactively partnering with local stakeholders

  • Transparency: We communicate openly with local leaders throughout the lifecycle and share comprehensive studies of projected impact to support community approvals.
  • Job creation: Data centers unlock new high-paying jobs through the creation of direct and indirect roles for project construction, operations, offsite infrastructure and technical services.
  • Tax revenues: Data centers generate significant local and state tax revenues and often attract “high-tech ecosystems” of suppliers and vendors to the local community.
  • Workforce development: Data centers seek local labor for engineering, construction and operations roles, and often partner with regional workforce programs to bolster training and recruitment.
